As per Palantir Co-Founder Joe Lonsdale, AI agents may prove to be significant 'BUYERS' of cryptocurrency

Lonsdale stated that cryptocurrency will likely be used by artificial intelligence (AI) agents for financial transactions, with Bitcoin, Ether, or Solana being the three options.

According to Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of data analytics company Palantir (PLTR), the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in the business may benefit cryptocurrencies.

In an interview for CNBC's Squawk Box on Monday, an AI agent—an entity that uses AI technology to execute certain tasks—said that while performing financial transactions, they would probably utilize cryptocurrency, adding that the three options would be bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), or Solana (SOL).

"There's one type of buyer that could be very important here: AI agents are going to start doing a lot of things in our economy," he stated. "For AI agents to coordinate with incentive systems, they're probably going to use crypto."

The convergence of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency has been a topic of much discussion since the release of popular AI tools such as ChatGPT last year.

After spot ETFs began trading in the United States, Lonsdale expressed his opinion on what factors influence the price of bitcoin, saying that it mostly depends on the overall economic environment.

"Are we going to spend money carelessly and run a huge deficit in 2025 and 2026? Which asset is safe, if any?" He made a posture. "Many of my friends who are more knowledgeable about macroeconomics than I am are telling me stories about inflation that might spike again. Cryptocurrency may perform rather well.
