Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang, a former Google employee, co-founded the cryptocurrency exchange FTX in 2019. In 2017, he also established Alameda Research, the hedge fund that partners with the corporation.

Is Bankman-Fried able to fight?

  • According to Reuters, he is probably going to request that the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals reconsider his conviction as well as the decisions made against him both before to and during the trial.
  • In a statement, Mark Cohen, Bankman-Fried's attorney, expressed his "disappointment" but acknowledged and appreciated the jury's verdict.
  • He declared, "Mr. Bankman-Fried will continue to vigorously fight the charges against him and maintains his innocence."
